Nathan Cook — Account Executive at BambooHR

Most AEs hand technical questions off. I don't. With a background in software engineering, I answer them myself and turn objections into momentum — now closing enterprise SaaS at BambooHR. Turning technical complexity into business growth.

About

I started my career the way most engineers do: writing code, shipping features, and learning to think in systems. I earned a B.S. in Software Engineering, and spent my early years building products at a fast-moving, GTM-stage startup — Replay Live — where I was a founding member of the Product & Engineering division and helped ship an MVP that got adopted into schools as an ad-revenue tool for local businesses.

Along the way I discovered something most technical people don't expect about themselves: I loved the moment a customer understood why a product mattered to them. That pull toward the human, persuasive side of technology led me into sales — first at Progrexion, where I outsold the branch average by 2.5x and earned back-to-back PaceSetter Awards, and now as an Account Executive at BambooHR, where I manage a full enterprise SaaS pipeline end to end.

What makes me different from most AEs is that I've actually built the software. When a technical buyer pushes back on integration complexity, data architecture, or API limitations, I don't hand it off — I understand it, translate it, and build trust because of it. Sales is a technical discovery process as much as it is a relationship one, and I treat it that way.
